National Nutrition Month and RDN Day
In March, Lintons celebrated National Nutrition Month (NNM). Created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, NNM aims to educate everyone about making informed food choices and developing healthy eating and physical activity habits.
This year’s theme, “Personalize Your Plate,” encourages the notion that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and health. Participants received educational materials with weekly nutrition themes such as: how to increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, MyPlate, smart snacking, and reading nutrition labels. Staff members celebrated the event with special meals, like a Greek veggie burger, for instance, to showcase Meatless Monday. “The staff at Melmark loved the creative and delicious meals served on Meatless Monday and would like to continue the tradition,” says Nicole Brigham, Clinical Dietitian.
Lintons also incorporated Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Day into the National Nutrition Month initiative. Celebrated March 10, RDN Day recognizes dietitians and nutrition professionals as the most valuable and credible source of food and nutrition information. Our corporate and clinical dietitian staff were honored with shout-outs on Lintons social media platforms, praising their dedication to helping those we serve meet their individual nutrition goals. Lintons is proud to celebrate the excellence of our dietitians, built on a solid foundation of education, training, and credential assessment processes.
