Celebrating National School Breakfast Week 2021

During the week of March 8, school cafeterias across the country celebrated National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) with the 2021 theme “Score Big with School Breakfast.” The celebration featured special menu items and the chance to win prizes, to help raise awareness of how healthy school breakfasts can fuel students for success in the classroom and beyond.

Following the success of the Golden Ticket promotion in October 2020, Lintons decided to celebrate this year’s National School Breakfast Week with Surprise Tickets. These tickets were randomly placed into the meal bags for students to pick up. A winning ticket awarded the students either an Amazon or Wawa gift card.

Studies show that children who eat school breakfast are more likely to reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math, have better concentration and memory, and maintain a healthy weight. National School Breakfast Week helps us educate parents and students about all the benefits of our breakfast program, including the appealing choices we offer. Lintons offers alternative breakfast service venues, such as kiosks, in addition to the traditional cafeteria line. Lintons associates have also shown initiative by creating pre-made hot meals and take-home bulk items for students and the families affected by school closures. School breakfast participation continues to rise thanks to breakfast in the classroom programs, grab-and-go kiosks, and new take-home meal initiatives created in the wake of the pandemic.

The NSBW “Score Big with School Breakfast” campaign reminds the entire school community that a healthy school breakfast helps ensure students’ academic success in school so they can “score big” and reach their goals.
